ESPLANADE ART CENTER EXHIBITION
Sat­ur­day & Sun­day, 11am — 3pm, Esplanade Arts Cen­ter, 140 E Stet­son Ave, Space 297, Hemet
Through the end of July, the Esplanade Arts Cen­ter is fea­tur­ing dis­plays of three unique aspects of art. The first is plein air art, or art pro­duced out of doors in nat­ural light. Four­teen local artists age six­teen to eighty plus are high­lighted in an eclec­tic mix of media, includ­ing pas­tel, water­color, acrylic and oil. The sec­ond facet of the show fea­tures the art of Mar­cia Gawecki, an Idyll­wild artist, pro­duc­ing fas­ci­nat­ing banner-size por­traits of iconic jazz musi­cians. The third part of the show is the con­tin­u­a­tion a well-received pho­tog­ra­phy dis­play, a unique col­lec­tion of cell phone art pro­duced by ama­teurs and pro­fes­sion­als. The exhibit is a color-filled jour­ney around the globe and focuses on artis­tic view­points of ani­mals, peo­ple and places. The pho­tos are avail­able for pur­chase at $15 apiece. The pro­ceeds ben­e­fit the Dia­mond Val­ley Arts Council.
